- Breath shortness;
- Coma;
- Extreme drowsiness;
- Fainting;
- Light-headedness;
- Muscle stiffness;
- Seizure (convulsions);
- Sweating;
- Swelling;
- Uneven heartbeats;
- Vomiting;

Tofranil Side Effects

If you develop any of these severe side effects during your treatment with Tofranil you should alert your personal physician at once:
- Weakness and vomiting;
- Unusual weight gain swelling;
- Sudden weakness or numbness;
- Skin rash;
- Severe tingling;
- Seizures;
- Pounding uneven or fast heart beat;
- Pain;
- Pain spreading to the shoulder or arm sweating nausea general illness;
- Numbness;
- Muscle weakness;
- Heavy feeling or chest pain;
- Headache;
- Hallucinations;
- Extreme thirst with nausea;
- Easy bleeding or bruising;
- Confusion sudden headache problems with speech vision or balance;
- Confusion;
- Bruising;

- Abnormal weakness;

A treatment with Tofranil could also trigger some other less severe but more common side effects like:
- Weight changes;
- Weakness;
- Vomiting;
- Unpleasant taste dry mouth;
- Stomach pain;
- Ringing in the ears;
- Nightmares;
- Nausea;
- Loss of appetite;
- Lack of coordination;
- Impotence;
- Headache;
- Feeling drowsy dizzy or tired;
- Diarrhea or constipation;
- Decreased sex drive;
- Breast swelling;
- Blurred vision;

Tofranil Drug Interactions

During your treatment with Tofranil do not take:
- Cimetidine (Tagamet);
- Clonidine (Catapres);
- Guanethidine (Ismelin);
- Heart rhythm drugs;
- Methylphenidate (Ritalin Concerta Daytrana);
